this project combines the modern luxury of a helicopter pad with the practicality and timeless charm of a formal Italian vegetable garden. Given that the landing pad wull only be used a few times per year we will be able to accomodate for any downdraft that may be created by the helicopter.
On this design I have concentrated on a strong backbone of dry-stone walls that in turn create four large terraces. The whole structure picks up on a classical amphitheatre theme. the site faces south west and so is clearly perfect for the creation of a formal Italian vegetable garden.
Strong art topiary in the form of bay laurel cones and myrtle spheres will underline the symmetry and espalier fruit trees will adorn every sunny wall face. This Italian vegetable garden will be treated with ecologica, the water-saving garden design system and will therefore be water efficient and all rainwater will being channelled into resevoirs on the estate- to be used for irrigation. All electricity used in illuminations will be created on the estate by solar panels.
